The Retail Fraud Survey 2011 was published today, claiming to be the ‘most in-depth’ survey into UK retail fraud. It looks at the strategies of the UK’s 100 leading retailers to reduce retail fraud.
Shoplifting or external stock theft is the biggest cause of loss to retailers and most believe that shoplifting is likely to increase due to the current economic climate. The total cost of retail crime in 2010 (including the cost of security) was an astonishing £4.8bn.
